ABOUT
WHO WE ARE
New Horizon Choir is a contemporary choir open to singers aged 18 and above. We sing pop, rock and other accessible styles of music, in dynamic, rich arrangements. We aim for excellence in everything we do, and provide the necessary tools to help singers excel.
Our singers are committed to the choir, and work hard on the music between sessions. This enables us to spend our time together shaping the music and creating vibrant, exciting performances.
We welcome all singers, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, and sexual orientation (see our Inclusion policy here). Because of the pace we work at, we believe people will get the best out of being part of New Horizon Choir if they have some previous singing experience, but we do not audition for membership.
THE TEAM
New Horizon Choir is run by the husband and wife team of Tim and Toni Allen. They have decades of experience of working with singers, from complete beginners to seasoned professionals.

We also use professional session singers to record the learning tracks that singers use to help learn the songs. These singers include our long-time collaborator Alastair Brookshaw (West End performer, Westminster Abbey chorister, backing vocalist for Kylie Minogue and Shirley Bassey), his wife Zoë Brookshaw (international classical soprano who sings at the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall etc), session singer Eloise Irving (BBC Choirgirl of the Year, Tallis Scholars, Monteverdi Choir, Tenebrae, Eric Whitacre Singers), and Rebecca Trehearn (Olivier award winner, West End lead, session singer for films such as Pirates of the Caribbean and The Da Vinci Code).
