SESSIONS
Our weekly sessions are at the heart of what we do. We welcome everyone, there is the opportunity to catch up with other choir members, then we run through some vocal exercises before starting to work on the songs for that season.
Welcome and social
Members are welcome to arrive from 6:30pm, giving plenty of time for us to catch up with each other before the music starts at 7pm. With such a large choir, there are lots of opportunities to meet new people and build new friendships.

Vocal exercises
Our musical director, Tim, has decades of experience with singers, at every level from complete beginner to seasoned professional. He brings this knowledge to bear right from the start of each session, tailoring vocal exercises to the needs of the choir and the music we'll be covering that night. Some of the exercises are designed to strengthen vocal technique, others are there to improve memory - and some are just plain fun!
The music
After the first week of each season, we ask every member of the choir to come to sessions having done some work on the songs we'll be covering that night. We don't necessarily expect them to be learnt perfectly, but if everyone is reasonably familiar with their part before we start, we can spend our time focusing on anything that people are struggling with. We can also get straight into shaping the performance of the songs, and looking at stagecraft and making an emotional connection, right from the beginning of our time rehearsing each song.
