About the event
There are various roles we're hoping people will volunteer to help out with. Details of each are below. In order to keep things as simple as possible, we'd like anyone volunteering to do the same role in both concerts, so please only volunteer if you're taking part in both the Friday and Saturday events. Please also sign up to sing in the concerts first - signing up to volunteer DOESN'T add you to the list for singing, so you need to do each one as a separate booking.
Seat labelling
It's not a glamourous job, but a necessary one! As we'll be selling allocated seats for the concerts, every chair will need a seat number sticking to it, and every row will need a row label at each end. If you volunteer to help us with this, you'll be attaching these labels before the audience arrive on the Friday, and removing them after the audience leave on the Saturday. You'll need to arrive fairly early on the Friday, and be prepared to leave a little later on the Saturday.
Ticket checking
Using a specific app on your mobile phone, you'll scan audience members' tickets when they arrive, and direct them towards the auditorium. You'll need to be welcoming, helpful, and reasonably confident with technology - plus willing to use your phone to do the scanning. Tim or Toni will be on hand most of the time, so if issues arise that you can't quickly resolve, you'll be able to hand over to us. You'll need to arrive a little earlier than the rest of the choir, so you're all set up before we open the doors to the audience.
Stewards
As audience members arrive in the auditorium, you'll help them find their allocated seat, let them know where the toilets are, etc. You'll need to arrive a little earlier than the rest of the choir, so you're all set up before we open the doors to the audience.
Refreshments
We'll be serving tea, coffee, squash and biscuits in the restaurant during the interval of both concerts. You'll be responsible for making the refreshments and serving them, under Toni's guidance. You'll need to arrive fairly early to get everything set up, and ideally be prepared to stay a little later after both concerts to get things cleared up too.Â
